Lacuna Labs Intelligence Ltd

We chose to build a product
that cannot betray you.

Not a product governed by a privacy policy that could change. Not a product whose safety depends on trusting its operator. A product where the architecture itself is the guarantee — where sovereignty, privacy and compliance are structural properties, not features.

The name

Two words.
One conviction.

Every name we considered was discarded until these two remained — not because they sounded right, but because they meant exactly what we intended.

Lacuna
Latin · noun · feminine
A gap. An absence. A space where something should exist but does not. The thing that most analysis fails to see — not what is present, but what is missing. We named the company after the problem we exist to solve.
Gaptrium™
Gap + Trium · Latin · triumph
The gap, and the triumph over it. Trium — from the Latin for triumph — because finding what is absent is not merely an analytical act. It is a strategic victory. The moment a gap is named, it can be addressed.

Our values

Three principles.
Each one verifiable.

We did not write these values after building the product. We built the product as a consequence of holding them. The difference matters: values that follow decisions can be revised. Values that precede them leave marks in the architecture.

Sovereignty
Control without dependency
Your data is yours. By construction.
Gaptrium™ processes every document inside your browser. No file transits our servers. No analysis result is transmitted. No configuration leaves your device. We built a system that works without knowing what is inside it — because sovereignty cannot depend on the goodwill of a third party. It must be structurally guaranteed.
VERIFIABLE → monitor network traffic during any session · one POST to /auth/login · silence thereafter
Privacy
Architecture, not policy
We cannot sell what we never received.
The only data our servers hold about any user is an email address and a password hash. That is the totality of what we know. We do not know which documents you analyse, which terms you search for, or what you find. This is not a policy we could reverse — it is a consequence of how the system is built. Privacy by architecture is the only kind of privacy that survives a change of ownership, a regulatory shift, or a commercial pressure.
GDPR compliant by design · nFADP · LGPD · no document retention possible by architecture
Compliance
Consequence, not checkbox
Compliance that survives scrutiny.
We did not build a compliant product by hiring a lawyer to review our practices. We built a product where the most stringent compliance requirements — GDPR, nFADP, institutional data governance, legal privilege, classified material handling — are satisfied automatically, as a consequence of the architecture. When a government agency or law firm loads documents into Gaptrium™, no compliance review of our infrastructure is required. The documents never arrive.
UK GDPR · EU GDPR · Swiss nFADP · LGPD · zero server-side document exposure

Our geography

Every choice
has a reason.

We did not choose where to incorporate, where to host, or who to partner with based on convenience or cost. We chose based on what each jurisdiction and each organisation represents — and whether those values are consistent with the product we are building.

🇬🇧
United Kingdom
Registered jurisdiction · Lacuna Labs Intelligence Ltd
London for its position — geographically between Europe and the world, practically connected to the markets and institutions we serve. Lacuna Labs Intelligence Ltd is registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. UK GDPR applies.
🇪🇺
European Union
Regulatory framework · primary values reference
Europe produced the world's most demanding data protection framework not by accident — by conviction. GDPR is the legal expression of a cultural belief that personal data belongs to the person it describes. That belief is our baseline. We build to satisfy it not because we are required to, but because we agree with it.
🇨🇭
Switzerland
Hosting jurisdiction · infrastructure
Switzerland was chosen for what it represents: neutrality, stability, and a legal tradition of protecting what crosses its borders. The Swiss nFADP — in force since September 2023 — extends the logic of GDPR to one of the world's most trusted jurisdictions. Our infrastructure sits there because the values of the country are consistent with the values of the product.
🟢
Infomaniak SA
Infrastructure provider · Geneva, Switzerland
Infomaniak is the only hosting provider in Europe with a public manifesto of digital sovereignty. Independent, employee-owned, with no American shareholders and no dependence on hyperscaler infrastructure. They chose to be different before it was commercially advantageous. We chose them for the same reason we chose Switzerland: coherence.

"We did not set out to build a private product. We set out to build a product that could not be made unprivate."
Lacuna Labs is a small company with a clear thesis: that the most important guarantees in software are structural, not contractual. That a product which cannot betray its users is worth more than a product which promises not to. We will keep building on that thesis — one decision at a time, each one visible in the architecture.
